Clean Water Program

In Aweil, South Sudan, many families rely on unsafe water sources, exposing them to waterborne diseases that disproportionately affect children and the elderly. Hope in Christ for Transformation (HCT) addresses this challenge by supporting community-led clean water initiatives that reduce illness and ease the daily burden on households, especially women and girls who travel long distances to collect water.

HCT’s clean water programs focus on sustainable and participatory solutions. These include drilling and rehabilitating boreholes, promoting household water treatment, and providing hygiene and sanitation education. Community water committees are trained to manage and maintain water points, ensuring long-term functionality and local ownership.
